This Privacy Policy explains how the AI Cleaner: Clean up Storage mobile application ("AI Cleaner", "the app") handles information. The app is developed and published by Easier Mobile ("we", "us"). It applies to the app distributed through Google Play.
In short: AI Cleaner has no user accounts and no servers. Your photos, videos and files are read, analysed, compressed and deleted entirely on your device. Nothing is uploaded to us, and we do not collect, share, or sell personal data.
We do not collect, transmit, or sell personal information. AI Cleaner has no sign-in and no user account. We operate no server that receives your data, so there is no copy of your content or your activity anywhere except on your own phone.
The app's purpose is to find what is taking up storage space. To do that it reads media and files that you have given it access to. This reading happens locally, in the app's own process:
The app does not upload, back up, index, or share the content of any file. It has no feature that transmits your files anywhere.
To make the app work, AI Cleaner saves the following on your device only. It is never uploaded to us, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
| What | Why it is stored |
|---|---|
| Scan results and cached file metadata (paths, sizes, dates, similarity groups) | So repeat scans are fast and results survive leaving a screen. |
| AI category labels for your photos | To show photo categories without re-analysing the whole library each time. |
| Trash bin records | To let you review and restore items before they are permanently removed. |
| Swipe-to-clean progress | To resume where you stopped instead of showing the same photos again. |
| Daily free-tier counters | To apply the free allowance for compressing and deleting media each day. |
| App preferences and onboarding state | To remember your choices between launches. |
| Secret Space contents and settings | Files you deliberately hide, stored encrypted (see Section 5). |
AI Cleaner requests only the permissions its features need. You may grant or deny each one, and you can revoke them at any time in Android Settings → Apps → AI Cleaner → Permissions.
| Permission | How the app uses it |
|---|---|
Photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO) — Android 13 and newer | The core feature: listing your photos and videos so the app can show what uses storage, find duplicates and similar shots, compress them, and delete the ones you choose. |
Selected photos access (READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED) — Android 14 and newer | Supports Android's partial-access option, so you can let the app see only the photos you pick instead of your whole library. |
Storage (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) — Android 12 and older only | The equivalent of the media permissions on older Android versions, which have no separate photo/video permission. It is declared with maxSdkVersion="32" and is not requested on newer devices. |
Internet / network state (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) | Declared by the bundled Google ML Kit library that the app depends on. We operate no server of our own, and image labelling runs offline from the model inside the app package — your photos and files are never uploaded. |
What we deliberately do not request: AI Cleaner does not request
All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE), location, camera, microphone, contacts,
the phone number, the accounts on your device, or the list of apps you have installed.
To clean junk files outside your media library, the app uses Android's Storage Access Framework: you pick a folder and Android grants access to that folder only. You choose each folder, you can see the list inside the app, and you can revoke a grant at any time. The app never obtains blanket access to your whole storage volume.
Deletion is always initiated by you. On Android 11 and newer, the system itself shows a confirmation dialog before media is removed — we cannot delete your media without that confirmation. Items you delete inside the app are first moved to the app's own Trash bin, where you can restore them, and are removed permanently when you empty the Trash or when the retention period you see in the app expires. Permanent deletion cannot be undone by us: we hold no copy.
Secret Space lets you move files into a private area protected by a password you choose. Those files are encrypted on your device with AES-256 in GCM mode, using a key derived from your password. The password and the key stay on your device; they are never transmitted, and we have no copy of either.
There is no password recovery. If you forget the password, neither you nor we can decrypt the files. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes the encrypted vault and its contents permanently.
The AI features — photo categories, similar-photo grouping and image enhancement — are conventional on-device machine-learning models that ship inside the app. They do not use a cloud service, do not generate content from your data, and do not train on your photos. No prompt, image, or result is sent off the device.
The app shows an "Email cleanup" entry that is not available. It does not sign you in to any email account, does not request Google account access, and reads no mail. The screen exists only to state that the feature is not implemented.
If optional Pro features are offered, they are sold exclusively through Google Play Billing. Payment is processed entirely by Google — we never receive or store your payment card, billing address, or Google account details, and the app receives only a confirmation of whether an entitlement is active. Google's handling of that transaction is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
| Service | Role | Data it receives from the app |
|---|---|---|
| Google ML Kit (image labeling, bundled model) | On-device photo categorisation | None. The model runs locally inside the app. |
| Google Play Store / Play Billing | Distribution and, where offered, purchases | Handled by Google under its own policy; we receive no personal data from it. |
Any third-party service the app comes to rely on will be listed in this table, with what it receives, before it ships.
AI Cleaner is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from any user, none is collected from children either.
Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing on our side to retain, export, or delete.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to its sale. We do not collect, process, share, or sell personal data, so there is no data held by us to which these rights could apply. All data created by the app stays under your control on your own device. You may still contact us with any privacy question and we will respond.
App data is stored in Android's private per-app storage, which the operating system isolates from other apps; Secret Space contents are additionally encrypted as described in Section 5. Because no data leaves your device, there is no transmission for us to secure. Note that app data may be included in Android's own backup if you have enabled device backup in your Google account settings; that backup is managed by Google, not by us.
We may update this policy when the app changes. The revised version will be posted at this address with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's Play Store listing. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
